Karoline Leavitt’s age gap with husband leaves people shocked as they only just realise how old she is

Karoline Leavitt, the White House press secretary for Donald Trump, recently shared that she is expecting her second child, drawing renewed public attention to her personal life. The 28-year-old announced the news on Instagram, revealing she and her husband are expecting a baby girl in May 2026.

Leavitt and her husband, businessman Nicholas Riccio, welcomed their first child just over a year ago. The couple married in January 2025 and now balance family life alongside demanding professional roles. In her announcement, Leavitt expressed gratitude for motherhood and thanked both President Trump and White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles for supporting a workplace she described as “pro-family.”

While many congratulated her, online discussion quickly shifted toward the couple’s age difference. Riccio is in his early 60s, creating a 32-year age gap that surprised many commenters and fueled debate across social media platforms.

Despite the attention, Leavitt has never shied away from addressing the difference. In previous interviews, she explained that they met through mutual friends during her congressional campaign and built a relationship based on shared values rather than age.

She has described Riccio as private, steady, and deeply supportive, particularly as a father. According to Leavitt, their partnership works because of mutual respect and clear communication, not public expectations.

Leavitt has also emphasized that her family life is grounded and intentional, even as her public profile grows. She has framed their relationship as unconventional but deeply stable, shaped by trust and shared goals.

Public reactions remain mixed, with some expressing curiosity or skepticism and others offering support. Still, Leavitt continues to speak openly, appearing unfazed by outside judgment.

As she prepares to welcome another child, she presents her growing family as a source of strength—one that coexists with her demanding role in national politics.
